5-Day Mt Fuji, Northern Alps and UNESCO Experience
Five days from Tokyo to the Japanese Alps and back, six prefectures, and a UNESCO site on the way.
Tell us your trip details and we'll put together a complimentary Stradora Expedition Pack for the journey.
The route
UB Touring Japan runs this five day guided ride through the summer and autumn, from May to November, as the warm weather counterpart to its winter tour of the Izu Peninsula. It is led out of the company’s base at Narita, east of Tokyo, with riders collected from a Tokyo area hotel at the start and returned there at the end.
The route works north and west from Kanagawa into Yamanashi, within sight of Mount Fuji, then climbs into Gifu and Nagano for the Japanese Alps before coming back east through Gunma and Tochigi. Six prefectures in five days, and the mix is deliberate: the roads around Fuji, the mountain passes of central Honshu, and a UNESCO listed site along the way.
The group is two to five riders with a leader on a motorcycle in front, which the company describes as a small group rather than a tour. The motorcycle is included, a Triumph Tiger with panniers and a top box, along with GPS, insurance, road tolls and parking. Accommodation, breakfasts and half of the dinners are part of the price. Lunches, fuel and admission charges are not.
UB Touring has not published a price for this tour, so the figure shown on Stradora comes from the operator directly rather than from the website, and should be confirmed when enquiring. Three departures are listed for 2027, in July, October and November. The operator has told Stradora that published dates can shift, sometimes by a week or more, so treat the dates as indicative and confirm before booking flights. Wes Heiser, who owns and leads the tours, answers enquiries himself and usually within a day.
Please note: UB Touring Japan prices are set and payment is made in Japanese Yen (JPY). Any price shown in another currency is for guidance only.
