Australia Encompassed
The Nullarbor Plain and the Great Australian Bight on the same ride as Uluru and the red centre, finishing back where it started in Melbourne.

The route
Twenty nights from Darwin to Melbourne, down the middle of the continent and out to the south coast, on one of the longest sealed-road routes the operator runs. Riders may bring their own bike, or hire one from a choice of three.
Kakadu opens it, with Yellow Waters, then Katherine and Nitmiluk, where the gorge is cut in thirteen sections through sandstone. The Stuart Highway then runs south through Daly Waters, Newcastle Waters and Tennant Creek, with the Devils Marbles, Barrow Creek and Wycliffe Well on the way to Alice Springs.
Kings Canyon follows, then Uluru and Kata Tjuta, with the Valley of the Winds walk between the domes. Coober Pedy comes next, where much of the town lives underground to escape the heat and opal has been mined since 1915, then Woomera and Port Augusta with the Flinders red cliffs lookout.
The Flinders Ranges follow by way of Moralana Drive and Rawnsley Park Station, with Blinman beyond, then the Clare and Barossa valleys, the Adelaide Hills and Birdwood. The Coorong, Robe and the Grampians at Halls Gap carry the route east, and the Great Ocean Road closes it with Port Campbell, the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge before Melbourne. Prices are quoted in US dollars, per person, and vary by bike. Australian outback distances are the thing to understand before booking: fuel stops are hours apart, the road trains take their half out of the middle, and twenty nights is brisk for this much ground. The payoff is a route that changes character completely about four times, from tropical wetland to red centre to vineyard country to the Southern Ocean.
