Majestic Ireland
Tour 2027
Tour 2027
Eight nights from Dublin to the west coast and down the Atlantic edge – Doolough Pass, the Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry – with the car, the hotels and two guides arranged for you.
Tell us your trip details and we'll put together a complimentary Stradora Expedition Pack for the journey.
8 nights through Ireland
You land in Dublin, collect the car at the airport and drive to the first hotel for a champagne reception and dinner with the group. The next morning the road goes west, right across the country to Westport, and from there it follows the west coast south.
The route takes in Doolough Pass, Galway, the coast road to the Cliffs of Moher, a ferry over the River Shannon and the Ring of Kerry, before two nights by the lakes in Killarney National Park. Then you drive back across to Dublin for the Guinness tour and a last dinner together.
Westport is home for the first two nights, at a spa hotel. On the first evening the guides take you out into the town for its pubs and music. The next day is yours. Ride horses along the beach at Carrowholly, take the Clew Bay cruise, or drive out to Ballycroy National Park and Achill Island to walk.
Day four starts through Doolough Pass and ends in the middle of Galway, a bohemian city with a love of traditional music. A guided walking tour shows you where to eat and drink, and then the night is your own, or you can join the guides for a drink. Kylemore Abbey is also included on the tour.
You walk into Galway for breakfast and some shopping, then take the coast road south to the Cliffs of Moher, high above the Atlantic. The night is at a hotel looking out to sea, with fine dining and time for a walk on the beach.
Day six crosses the River Shannon by ferry and carries on south-west onto the Ring of Kerry, with lunch at a seafood restaurant. You stay two nights at a lakeside hotel in Killarney National Park.
On day seven the cars stay parked. A short minibus ride takes you to Ross Castle, then a 30-minute boat across the lakes of Killarney to lunch at Lord Brandon’s Lodge, and a horse and trap through the Gap of Dunloe.
The last drive crosses back to the capital. You check into the final hotel, take a guided tour of the Guinness Storehouse and have a farewell dinner with the group before a night out in the town. The tour ends the next morning.
This is a guided group tour, and two UDA guides travel with you from start to finish. There’s a road book with detailed routes and map links. The car is provided: an automatic compact, based on a BMW 1 Series, collected at Dublin Airport. UDA can arrange an upgrade if you ask when you book.
Eight nights in hotels, breakfasts and most evening meals are included, apart from a few free evenings. So are the attractions on the route – Kylemore Abbey, the Cliffs of Moher, the Galway food and drink walk, the Shannon ferry, the Killarney boat trip, the Gap of Dunloe horse and trap and the Guinness tour – and professional photography and film of the trip.
The price is £4,995 per person, based on two people sharing. A non-refundable £2,000 deposit secures your place.
