Chateaux & Champagne: A French Supercar Tour

Six nights of supercar driving through Beaujolais, Burgundy and Champagne, guided, with the price quoted on application.

Lyon is the start, which has a fair claim to being the gourmet capital of France, with a transfer out to the Chateau de Bagnols and a food and wine tour of the city and Beaujolais to open the week, which sets the tone before any driving happens.

Three driving days follow. The first runs from Lyon to Bussiere, with a night near the abbey there, then a Burgundy loop through the vineyards and cobbled villages of the Cote d’Or, where the plots are small enough to be measured in rows and some of them cost more than the cars. The third runs north from Beaune to Epernay, which is where the champagne houses are. A VIP tour follows, with a gourmet lunch and tastings of rare cuvees in cellars cut into the chalk, from both iconic and boutique producers.

Access to a rotating fleet of current cars for the three driving days is included, along with chateau and luxury accommodation throughout, the Lyon and Beaujolais food tour, the champagne house tour and the Michelin-starred dining; international flights are not. Seven days at this pace is a wine tour with three good driving days in it, and the chalk cellars under Epernay run to hundreds of kilometres. Spring and autumn are the seasons, with harvest in September, which is the most interesting time to be in any of these three regions and the hardest to get a table in.
