14 nights through Austria

The whole Alpine arc in one go, west from Vienna to Nice across fourteen nights and roughly 1,200 kilometres of mountains, through Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France. This is the most comprehensive tour in the operator’s Alpine range and it is a crossing, not a loop, so the scenery never repeats.

Admont opens it, then Kaprun by way of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which is the right introduction: wide, immaculately engineered and genuinely spectacular. Val Gardena in the Dolomites provides the first rest day with a loop ride available for anyone who does not want one, and then the route takes the Stelvio Pass at 2,758 metres on the way to the Oetztal valley.

The second week changes character. The Swiss Alps lead to Lake Geneva and a rest day at Montreux on the lakeshore, and after that the French Alps carry the route down to Saint-Paul-de-Vence above Nice, finishing within sight of the Mediterranean. Going from the Vienna woods to the Cote d’Azur entirely on mountain roads is a satisfying thing to have done, and the gradual change in architecture, food and language is most of the pleasure.

Edelweiss include a choice of BMW motorcycle, fourteen nights in comfortable middle-range hotels, a guide and a tour book. This is a one-way tour, flying into Vienna and out of Nice, and flights are separate. A guided city tour of Vienna can be added for 350 euros per person with a 65 euro single supplement, and prices are per person for 2026. For a rider with one big Alpine trip in them, this is the one that covers the lot.
