The second act of the guided Wild West tour, and a complete change of landscape from the first. Ten days from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, nine nights and around 1,160 miles, with a tour leader, a welcome dinner and a farewell dinner, plus two free days built in.

Death Valley opens it on the longest ride of the trip, 315 miles from Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes, dropping below sea level across the salt flats before climbing into the high Sierra. It is a swing of several thousand feet and the sharpest contrast anywhere in the range.

Tioga Pass follows into Yosemite, which is the finest approach any national park offers, then the route crosses the Gold Rush towns of the Sierra foothills and runs over the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco for two nights and a free day. After that it is the coast all the way: Monterey, the Bixby Bridge, Big Sur and Pismo Beach, then wine country, Santa Barbara and Malibu on the final run into Los Angeles.

EAGLERIDER provides the motorcycle, the tour leader, all nine nights and the group dinners. Fuel, most meals and insurance are separate. Riding days run from 118 to 315 miles, weighted so that the shortest of them fall on the coast where the stopping is best. For riders who have already done the desert half of this pairing, or who simply want Yosemite and Big Sur guided rather than self-navigated, this is the half with the mountains and the ocean in it.
