Stradora launches with 1,500 extraordinary driving and motorcycling journeys across 111 countries
Some of the world’s most extraordinary road journeys already exist. The problem is finding them.
Specialist driving and motorcycle operators are scattered across hundreds of individual websites around the world, meaning travellers often need to know what they are looking for before they can find it. Many extraordinary journeys are difficult to discover through conventional search or mainstream travel sites.
Stradora brings more than 1,500 driving and motorcycling journeys across 111 countries together in one place. Travellers can discover experiences by vehicle, destination, duration, budget and travel style, then connect directly with the specialist operator behind them. Stradora doesn’t sell or operate the trips. The operator handles the booking, payment and experience.
The journeys range from the accessible to the extraordinary. You can take part in the first UK running of the legendary 1000 Miglia Experience or take your own 4×4 on a 22,000 km, 125-day expedition through 21 African countries from Europe to Cape Town. Drive a Willys Jeep through Vietnam, take a Porsche 911 on safari through Botswana, ride a Royal Enfield through Patagonia, search for snow leopards by 4×4 in Mongolia or tackle the dunes of Oman. You can cross the Australian Outback, explore New Zealand by campervan, ride a snow bike in Bulgaria, snowmobile across the Arctic Circle, tour Australia by motorcycle with Charley Boorman or learn to rally with two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm.

Stradora covers everything from cars, motorcycles and classics to supercars, 4x4s, self-drive safaris, campervans, RVs and snowmobiles. Journeys can be guided or self-guided, and they range from a one-day ice driving lesson in Swedish Lapland to a 125-day trans-African expedition. Prices range from little more than £100 to more than £70,000 per person.
Whether travelling solo, as a couple, with family or as part of a group, travellers can choose from independent self-drive escapes to fully supported expeditions.
Rather than simply aggregating travel listings, Stradora’s collection has been personally curated by its founders, bringing together specialist operators and remarkable journeys that would otherwise be difficult to discover.
Stradora is designed to make the specialists who create and run these journeys easier to discover, not replace them. Operators pay no listing fees and can’t pay to rank higher. When a traveller finds a journey they like, they go directly to the specialist behind it.
Stradora was founded by Gary Dooley and Tim Illingworth, co-owners of Leeds creative agency Pure, now entering its 30th year. Gary had the idea after years of researching and booking road trips around the world, many of them with Tim, a photographer and videographer.
Gary Dooley, co-founder, said: “I’ve spent years finding and booking road trips around the world, and the best ones were nearly always hidden on websites you’d never find unless you knew what to search for. Stradora is the site I wished had existed when we started doing this. You don’t book with us. You find the people who actually run the journey and deal with them directly. Don’t visit the world. Drive it.”
Tim Illingworth, co-founder, added: “Every time we came home from a road trip, someone asked how we’d found it. Now there’s an answer.”
